What if you could actually SEE how music works?
Have you ever wondered how musicians seem to instinctively know which chord comes next? How they can work out songs by ear? Or why certain chords just seem to belong together?
What if there was a way to actually SEE those relationships?
Join Matt Stead in his home village for a very special day of musical discovery as he introduces you to his Colours system — a wonderfully simple, visual way to understand music.
Using magical colour projections, real songs and plenty of hands-on ukulele playing, Matt will show you how the hidden patterns behind music become surprisingly easy to recognise.
You’ll see songs come alive in colour as you discover how chords relate to one another and why certain combinations sound so familiar.
What will we explore?
Discover how chords belong together using Matt’s Colours system.
Learn to find the key of a song.
Recognise chords by their musical personalities.
Watch real songs come alive through colourful projections.
Start working out chord progressions by ear.
Develop the confidence to play without always relying on a chord sheet.
The day will be full of familiar music, playing, listening, experimenting and those wonderful moments when everything suddenly makes sense.
You don’t need to read music or have an advanced understanding of theory. Just bring your ukulele, your ears and your curiosity!
It’s been a long time since I’ve taught a whole day in person like this, and I’m really looking forward to sharing those lovely lightbulb moments together. I’d love you to be there. — Matt
